You NEED Boudoir in Your Life (Virginia Beach Boudoir Photographer)

I’m going to share some pretty BIG knowledge and a few secrets with y’all today.

As a Virginia Beach boudoir photographer, I have the pleasure of creating a special relationship with you when you decide to be photographed by me. A
process takes place when you decide you want to be photographed intimately, for you and for me. It starts with gaining your trust by helping you understand the whys of boudoir photography, putting you at ease with the process and yourself. I’ve never ever broached the subject of boudoir photography when someone did NOT give a reason why they shouldn’t or couldn’t do it: “I just need to drop that last 5 pounds”, “After I do this”, “After I lose that”, “I’m too old”, “I wouldn’t know how to pose” and the list goes on and on.

As a woman I also have the distinct pleasure of knowing exactly how you feel, of not always loving how I look. We are all that way. I’m here to tell you that there will ALWAYS be a reason why NOT. What you need to know is there are far more important reasons why you SHOULD have a boudoir session photographed by me. You need to feel empowered, in control, you want a reason to love yourself , to flaunt your curves or even to heal. Yes, to heal from something mentally or physically, to heal yourself, scars for many women are a sign of triumph. You need boudoir in your life.

Here’s a secret you may not know, we aren’t all a beautiful skinny girl with the perfect curves and perky boobs, porcelain skin and round bottoms. I want you to know that yes, it can be a little scary, but once you get in that makeup chair and start getting pampered you will start to look forward to that first shutter click of the camera.

That’s why I’m sharing MY experience with you. Before I do though, here are a couple more secrets: I’m an average looking (other than being pretty tall) 41 year old woman, I bite my nails, I have cellulite, I have a space between my front teeth that I hate, I am pretty pale year round, I have curves in many of the wrong places- in a few of the right places too. Thanks to many years of living life to the fullest, I have gained approximately 70 pounds from the thin waifish girl many of you once knew. My boobs are HUGE because of this, and they are definitely NOT perky! I have tons of scars from various operations or removal of this or that freckle (OMG! I have SO MANY!!!) over the years. But I still went through with it.

I scheduled this session on an overcast day in December. I didn’t think I had anything sexy to wear at all. I went to Target 12 hours before, bought 2 matching sets of bra and panties, some ridiculous socks, and then packed it all in a bag with anything that my husband had ever remotely shown interest in on me. Showed up and we got down to the business of being sexy. You see, I knew I had to do this. Yes, I was certainly doing it for John in the end (he LOVES these photos by the way…LOVES THEM!), but mostly, I did it for me. I wanted to be able to tell the next girl I photographed that I knew how she was feeling, I’d been where she was and you know what? It’s going to be so much fun! It’s not a time to worry about a bit of extra curve here or a dimple there. That’s what an experienced photographer (ME), some expert posing and even a bit of Photoshop (not a lot…just a little) are for.

So now you know, if I can do it, so can you. Don’t let anymore silly excuses hold you back from being…well, you.

Now, check out a few of my photos then hit the contact button in the upper area just under my logo on this page and schedule your session today!

I like that you started out this article by saying boudoir beings with trust. That’s so true!! I’ve discovered that myself in my boudoir work. Keep up the good work! I like your style!ReplyCancel

I love what you wrote – it’s so true, and I think as women we need to be reminded that we are beautiful. The perfect images we see all day aren’t real, and holding ourselves to those standards is so damaging. I think these photos are beautiful. They are equal parts intimate and confident. I might be partial, because I love boudoir, but I think women everywhere would benefit from the experience!
