“Love is patient and sweet; love does not envy…”
There has never been a sweeter couple than these two. They completely embody what I think of when I imagine a couple in love with one another. The photos from Greg and Mary’s styled engagement session are a testament to that. Thank you so very much to Emma of Sweet Emma Lou for the vintage details and cake adding the perfect finishing touches.
How they met:
“Greg and I actually met when we were kids. Our childhood homes are separated by little over half a mile on Main Road in Hampden. Greg and my older brother have been great friends since they were maybe 6 or 7-years old. Greg and I didn’t come together until we were adults, though. It was a life-changing experience when we did.” Now if that doesn’t qualify as a patient love I don’t know what does.
They were a dream to photograph and work with. I got so caught up in how easy things were going I forgot to photograph Mary’s ring. She happily agreed to meet again and let me snap a few extra shots!
That special touch:
“The knife… While Greg was on his most recent deployment he talked about wanting to learn a trade. He chose knife making and, unsurprisingly, he’s got a talent for it. He makes beautiful blades. Recently, he taught me how to make the accompanying leather sheaths. It’s a cool little family business we’re growing.”
A styled session is the perfect way to express who you are as a couple by telling your story, making memories and sharing your love. It’s truly the sweetest expression.
